Estamos a las puertas de la Feria de Istán 2011

Quisiera comenzar con unas palabras de felicitación y profundo agradecimiento a Ana María Merchán Guerrero, Concejala de Fiestas, por el inmenso y complicado trabajo de llevar a cabo la organización y realización de la Feria de este año 2011. Y cómo no, mis felicitaciones a todas las personas que hacen posible que Istán vuelva a estar de fiesta; Comisión de Fiestas, colaboradores, anunciantes, y vecinos en general.
En estos momentos de crisis y malas noticias, necesitamos de estos días de alegría y reencuentro con nuestras tradiciones y amistades. Istán es sinónimo de música, de baile y de amistad compartida.
Os animo a que disfrutéis estos días, pero siempre desde el respeto a los que no pueden o no quieren participar de la fiesta.
Veamos nuestra Feria de San Miguel como lo hacen los niños; con emoción, ilusión y alegría. Dejémonos llevar por la música que riega las calles de nuestro pueblo y compartámosla con los que nos visitan, porque estamos en la Feria de Istán.

Greetings from the Mayor.

I would like to start with a few words of congratulations and profound gratitude to Ana Maria Merchán Guerrero, the Fiesta delegate for her immense and complicated work in organising and bringing about this year’s 2011 Festival. I would also like to thank all those involved in making it possible for Istán to be once again celebrating; the Fiesta Committee, collaborators, advertisers and all the neighbours in general.

In these days of crisis and bad news, we need days of happiness, and the return to our traditions and renewal of camaraderie between neighbours. Istán is synonymous with music, with dance and with shared friendship.

I encourage you to enjoy these days just as our children do; with passion, illusion and joy. Let the music that will flow in the streets take you and share it with our visitors because we are in the Festival of Istán.
